  • Washing less is best. There are other options aside from shampoo to help keep your hair feeling clean. Dry shampoo and a quick scalp massage will help soak up oils. Using conditioner only will help distribute the oils and scrub your scalp. Co-washing (conditioner washing) will be the most effective.

  • Cool water doesn't have to mean ice cold. Rinsing in cool water will help seal the cuticle and prevent color molecules from bleeding.

  • Between dry shampoo and co-washing you might notice that its not working for you anymore… time to shampoo. Shampooing is ok. You need to remove the buildup from your hair.

  • Hot tools can make hair color fade quicker. Turn down the heat on your irons and be sure to use a heat protectant. Not only will this protect your color but it will be healthier for your hair in the long run.

  • Some shampoos and conditioners deposit color by themselves. They can help keep the color vibrant and looking fresh.

  • Shampoos with sulfates and parabens are known to be harsh on the hair and will cause the color to fade.
